Born, raised, and working in Central Illinois
David Getz was born in Morton, Illinois where he graduated from Morton High School in 2008. After graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University (Summa Cum Laude) in 2012, Getz found himself back at Morton High School direction the high school Orchestra program in the fall of that year. Getz earned his Masters Degree in Music Education from Illinois St. University in 2021.
Composer of “Ruth: The Musical”
In the summer of 2018, Getz finished writing, produced, and directed his first original musical, Ruth, in front of a standing-room only crowd in an 1,100-seat auditorium.
